    Post Game Thread

    - RGIII injury : we all knew it was coming with the way RGIII is playing the game. I felt we had no chance to win that game once he left. Hopefully he will learn from it and next time will throw the ball away or run out of bounds.

    - The offense has to do a better job in 3rd down conversion. They are dead last in the league with an efficiency of 23% (1 for 9 yesterday). Is it play calling ? Is it the players ? I don't know but it's nothing new to this team. I thought RGIII would help the offense in that category but so far it's still a huge problem.

    - Maybe it starts with the WRs. We don't have Roddy White and Julio Jones and you see what a difference it can makes. They gave a huge contract to Garçon and so far he doesn't look like he's worth it.

    - Alfred Morris must be the steal of the 2012 NFL draft. It looks like he will never go down after the first contact. He needs to do a better job at picking up blitz.

    - Defense looked good, especially in the first half, but this team has no pass rush at all. Ryan had a lot of time out there to throw the football. It doesn't change my mind on Haslett and his schemes, the guy sucks.

    - DeAngelo Hall should be embarrassed with his effort while covering Gonzalez on a slant at the end of the first half.

    - Kerrigan is playing with smart. Love the way he plays the game.

    - Lorenzo Alexander is one of the best ST player I have ever seen. The guy is always around.

    - Billy Cundiff should look for a new job out of football as soon as monday morning.

    Notes and facts :

    - Santana Moss TD marked his 500th reception as a Redskins. He ranks 4th behind Art Monk (888), Charley Taylor (649) and Gary Clark (549). The next active Redskin is Fred Davis who ranks 25th with 149 reception.

    - 2nd interception for Kerrigan in his career and 2nd TD.

    - Alfred Morris is on pace for a 1571 rushing yards season. He would past Clinton Portis (1516 yards) for the top single season rushing total in franchise history.

After he didn't bring in competition last Monday it wouldn't shock me if Shanny stuck with Cundiff. Please prove me wrong Mike.

The defense held one of the explosive offenses to 24 pts, their lowest pont total of the year, despite the Washington offense constantly giving the ball back. They also scored their 3rd TD of the year. No folks this was not on the defense, this was on the passing game and their inability, again, to convert on 3rd down.

Yet another solid game from Morris. I believe now.

Billy Cundiff: "You look at the final score and obviously, even if I would've made that field goal we still would've needed 4 more points."

The guy should be fired just because of that sentence. His missed FG changed the momemtum of the game. I'm not saying the Falcons would not have scored a TD before half-time as he made that field goal, but I was pretty sure they were going to score after he missed. if you want to beat a top team like the Falcons you just can't afford to miss a 31 yarder.

Quick note on this: Fred Davis and Leonard Hankerson had two key drops on 3rd down passes that, while admittedly a little low/difficult, still hit them in both hands. Those drops ended up killing offensive drives that we really needed in order to keep our defense off the field.

Garcon's (non-)catch that was almost ruled a fumble but ended up being incomplete also lead to a punt on that drive.

Yeah the drops were a huge part of the problem. You just can't have that.

+1. And Cundiff shouldn't be saying anything other than apologizing. Bye bye Billy.

Hopefully, the Shanny's realize by now that it's playing with fire to play Hankerson with Garcon. That's just too many drops - especially with a rookie QB. And Fred Davis' drops don't help the situation.

And please no more Royster. Every 3rd down catch he makes ends up as 4th down. What does that tell you? And how many times does it have to happen to finally figure out that's a problem? Is this coaching by stubborness - I'm going to fail 100 times just to try to show you that I was right?

Our pass rush is really hurting without Orakpo. Kerrigan was unable to generate much pressure against Atlanta's RT. He did very well in other facets like the interception or dropping into coverage. However it is going to be tough having to blitz to get to the QB all year.

Meanwhile, my boy Markus White, was on the inactive list again. I hope they give him a shot - nothing else is working - though they were good against the run until they ran out of gas in the 4th quarter.

I have to admit, I did not even expect the game to be close.

The Redskins are much more enjoyable to watch this season even though I have no faith in the defense. They have been in every game.
It is well with my soul.

Looks like he is going to be inactive for a bit longer as the Skins waived him today.

Doh! How bad can he be if he can't help the Skins? Bad breath maybe?

I remember Jarvis having a nice pressure, but not a sack at some point in the game, the announcers did mention him needing to shake off the rust, etc.
