    KATD Season II Draft

We will have a one-round draft. This really shouldnt take too long and shouldnt cause anyone much concern. I do want to stick with this draft for two reasons. One, we always had it in the rules that we would do a one-round draft after the saason. And two, because now that you've seen your team perform each team has a few weaknesses they need to address.

I know there's been a lot of talk about the rights to draft a guy like Rob Gronkowski. Sounds like a great idea except for one thing. Since the concensus was to scrap this league and re-draft after this season, a guy like Gronk might not be a great pick. He would be a good player to develop and hope he continues his climb up the charts based on future seasons. But for one year, with his current ranking, he might not provide much. Here's Gronk's rankings for KATD Season II. Again, keep in mind, this only includes up to the 2011 season. The 2012 season gets added after we play this sim season.

    Gronk - Ranking 55th. Durability 1. 8 catches for 117 yards, 14.2 avg, 2 TDs, 0 fumbles. Run Block 2, Pass Block 1, Catch ability 4.

I'm not saying not to draft Gronk, just want everyone to keep this in mind. And while I'm giving advice, I think a lot of teams really need to consider adding a Return guy. Many of you who just had an existing player who did it a few times in his career take this role suffered. A poor return game could easily be outgained by 50 yards in a single game by an opponent. Another place some teams struggled was in the secondary. Some teams couldnt even play a dime defense because they didnt have enough guys in the secondary. Opponents took advantage of this, as they should. I would suggest you use this final round to plug holes more than try to find a star. There really arent any differnce-makers out there.

Here is the draft order. Its based on the same rules as the actual NFL draft:
    1) FinsFan
    2) Shananahan
    3) BHamita
    4) Tyke1doe
    5) ChildPlease
    6) GiveUp
    7) Augustus
    8) Avelek
    9) MarkIt
    10) Spankov
    11) XuluBak
    12) Goose
    13) PatsFan
    14) Femurov
    15) Yellowknifer
    16) Dilbert

If you guys already know who you want, feel free to start making picks. I suppose picks could be traded, but it would have to be for something already on your rosters. No trading for futures.

Goosey, I'm exercising my right to switch draft spots with GiveUp, from the Manning trade.

You may want to start a new thread for the draft. Some people may not look for updates in this thread.
As cliche as it may sound, I'd like to raise another round, and if your bottle's empty help yourself to mine, thank you for your time and here's to life.

Also, maybe mark the teams we're supposed to draft for as a consensus, so we don't get caught up.

    And then...

Is there an updated list of the players available? If not, no biggie. It's just one round.

I've said numerous times, I'm in.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. Hunter S Thompson

Not to mention, one of the players I got in that deal, Curley Culp, just got elected to the HoF.

I don't have Goosey's updated rankings, which would be nice to have, but this is last year's list, complete with some edits of my own (specifically, any player in red is one who was selected. I may not have absolutely every change, but I have most everyone marked off.)

Let me know if the dropbox sharing doesn't actually work, but if it does, it might save some trouble.

Dropbox is what I was thinking about as well. Posting the spreadsheets as pictures last year took a lot of time. I am just going to drop the spreadsheets into dropbox, and anyone can go retrieve them. I'm not sure how permissions on that site work, but we'll get it figured out. Dilbert - I was able to get yours with my dropbox account. So, I think its just a matter of signing up for a free account and you can see the document. I have updated all the positions, now I just need to update the tab that shows the players still available. I can get that done in the next 24 hours and post it.

One more comment to Dilbert - Culp was elected to the Hall THIS season, not last. Since the last update covers the 2011 season stats, Culp's election is not reflected. He didnt move up or down at all, however I would expect him to move up the list NEXT season based on enshrinement. So, again, these stats are up through the 2011 season. Once we complete this season and move on to the next one, the stats will be updated again and reflect all the things that happened in the 2012 season (stats, Pro Bowls/All-Pros, Hall of Fame, etc.)

    Glad to be of assistance.

Goose, do you happen to have complete updated rosters for every team somewhere? I checked the "Post your team" thread, and not everyone's team is there in full, so I'm not sure what all the consensus pick teams need. If it's already up somewhere, and I'm just being thick, just let me know where and I'll track it down.

Now that I think about it, I really don't have that information. I do in the game, but I dont know if there is a way to export that data into a spreadsheet where I could post it along with the rankings. That might take a little longer if I have to do it manually. Let me look into that.
