Lundqvist stole tonight's game for the Rangers. He was outstanding. Ottawa played a very good game, but they had no finish whatsoever. Someone needs to kick Jason Spezza in the arse because he's been awful this series while the other Senators have been playing hard and well.

If Backstrom gets suspended for his weak ass crosscheck considering the absurd displays of cheapshotting and dog fighting that is basically going unchecked in every other series, I might be done with the NHL for a long time.

edit --- hmmm, I was thinking it was for the weak cross check earlier in the period where Backstrom got a 2 minute minor. The crosscheck to Peverley's face was a whole different can of worms and might actually warrant a fine a least, maybe a 1 gamer.

When will floppers start getting suspended? That's just as unsportsmanlike as any other move.

Agreed. Marchand should change his name to Greg Louganis.

Shanahan better throw the book, the kitchen sink, and Gary Bettman at Raffi Torres for his hit on Hossa. That hit was late and it was a head shot.

Given what Shaw was suspended for (3 games!?), Torres better not play again this series plus more.

Agreed. Torres should get at least 10 games as he's a repeat offender. What's also astonishing is that he wasn't given penalized for the hit.

    Actually,

Peverley put the blade of his stick right up to Backstrom's eyes and that's what prompted the xcheck.

The fact of the matter is that the Bruins are playing about as dirty as any team can be by targetting backstrom's head repeatedly and is getting away with it over and over again.

For an organization that lost one of its best players to a dirty shot to the head, yuo'd think they'd have more respect. Unfortunately for the game, they don't.

Oh, and while I'm whining ... the bruins were clearly offsides on the GWG. So **** it all.

Rinne, Quick, Mike Smith, and Brian Elliott? The next round in the West could be all defense.

Or you know, all offense. Who knows? This playoffs has been unpredictable.

I kind of absolve the refs on this one. The first time through, when you don't know the hits coming, it looks like Hossa loses the puck off the end of his stick, puts his head down kind of reaching for it and gets decked and it doesn't look like Torres left his feet in real time because the collision is so violent.

Once you see the replay and it's slowed down, it looks VERY different.

    Whatever Shanahan has been doing,

he f-ed up at the start big time. Weber should be out of the playoffs. The non-suspension for Neal is an absolute joke (he was clearly head hunting twice on they same shift, and has a history of doing so) - a four gamer at least. Of course there was the legion of non-calls on Malkin and Crosby before that...

And now the refs are over the top the other way around.

Consistency is non-existent at all - and that is the only consistent part. It is rediculous that intent is not the primary factor for punishment, and that super stars are so protected, and get off lightly.

Wow, a Flyers fan complaining about the refs.......you're still up 3-1 dude.

The Flyers turned into goons at various points tonight. Sucks when the shoe is on the other foot of an ass whipping. 10-3.....that's pathetic.

Players get frustrated and do stupid crap. It's happened for as long as hockey has been around.

    Turris' shot was filthy.

Meanwhile, Schneider's on his A game. I wonder what happens to Luongo.
