    Overeem Fails Drug Test

This is a huge black eye for the UFC and Overeem in particular. The Nevada State Athletic Commission did the usual pre-fight tests. Overeem failed with an elevated 'T'.

Now many people have often felt he'd be one of the guys "on something" - but to get knicked now is huge.

Surprised it took this long. It was pretty obvious, can't wait to hear his explanation. When they start "surprise" testing these guys more during their camps they'll find a lot more

Same as Orange. It has always been a matter of time IMO, if they kept testing him it was gonna eventually show up.

Dude was ripped and very powerful as a 205'er not all that many years ago. Obviously worked out and lifted weights a lot. It's not hard to see people who pack on 40-50+ pounds of muscle in a few years cleanly, but its very rare for it to be a guy who was already a professional athlete and working out that much. Plus he packed on at least 5 pounds of muscle in his eyebrows and jaw muscles, not sure what kind of weight training people would do to accomplish that cleanly, so that has always been a dead giveaway to me.

Really? Would love to know their secrets.

You may see some big guys pack on a lot of muscle if they do some heavy lifting consistently and eat right but for most normal people 40-50 lbs of pure muscle, cleanly, would take years.

But like you added, especially for a guy with his frame and profession. MMA training burns a ridiculous amount calories and it's not like they just lift all the time.

No shocker indeed, still sucks that the fight is ruined now because of it.
Draft well and then coach em up!

Their secret is usually just starting to work out for the first time, or a high school kid getting to college and a strength trainer for the first time. Like I said, in a few years of clean lifting there are lots of people that have all of the ingredients in place to do that. Usually a combination of being young, having a certain frame or body type, and never being into weight training, or at least not seriously into it.

Overeem isn't all that young, at least past that 18-21 year old phase where its possible to have high natural amounts of HGH. He was also a professional athlete for quite a few years, and by looks alone had spent considerable time working out.

It would take most people a decade to put on 50lbs of clean muscle. He more obviously juiced than others. Many of them juice though. Actually, most people probably could never put on 50lbs of clean muscle (genetically impossible), a kid out of high school maybe.
