I'm not sure how I feel about Roy becoming GM (if that is what ends up happening). He seems a little too fiery and impulsive to me.
Other candidates being bandied about are Julien Brisebois (assistant GM in Tampa.... cap whiz from what they say), Pierre Maguire (his name always comes up), Claude Loiselle (assistant GM in Toronto), Pat Brisson (super-agent), Jim Nill (assistant GM in Detroit), and Vinnie Damphousse (his name started showing up a few weeks ago...)
I think Jim Nill is probably the most highly regarded guy on this list, but I have no idea if he speaks French or if he is even willing to leave Detroit.
I think they will want to act fast to get a team in place early to prepare for the draft and do a full organizational review. I wonder what happens to Timmins? I think he has done great job finding talent in the later rounds of drafts, but his 1st rounders have left a little to be desired. In his defense, insiders say he wanted Carter over Kostitsyn and Giroux over Fischer, but in both cases was over-ruled by Gainey...
And what I'm saying to you is, yes, I found a flaw... I've been very distressed by that fact. Alan Greenspan 2008
he helped build the Hawks to where they are.....though its not hard when you have a couple cornerstones like Kane and Toews but he's worked his way up through the ranks.
He was a long time player...
I really like the hire.
just hope the stupid moronic Montreal media let him do his thing and build a Habs team back to prominence!
I think the Dudley hire would be a good one. Highly regarded guy across the league...
Don't know about Quenneville. I think he is a good coach and certainly has the experience, but I don't think he is fluent enough to satisfy the whiners in the media. I can just imagine the series of Bertrand Raymond articles.
