    IDP Rankings

My dynasty league is instituting IDPs this year. Two IDPs, any position.

Points for IDP's are as follows: 2pts for each sack, interception, safety, blocked punt or field goal, and Fumble recovery. 1 pt for each forced fumble. 6 pts for each touchdown. 1 point for every 2 tackles.

I have found individual rankings but nothing that has a top 100 or top 200. I know that guys like Patrick Willis, Desmond Bishop, James Laurinaitis, and D'Qwell Jackson are 4 good guys but I'm not sure how to compare them against a DE or DB.

LBers are going to get you more points than any other position in most cases. If you are not restricted to any positions, I would only look at LB rankings, since you only need 2. The scoring system in my league is a little different than yours (1 pt per tackle, 2 for sack/FF/FR, 3 for INT), but our top 20 overall from last season is as follows...

    1. 88. Fletcher, London WAS LB
    2. 98. Jackson, D'Qwell CLE LB
    3. 105. Lofton, Curtis ATL LB
    4. 113. Anderson, James CAR LB
    5. 120. Laurinaitis, James STL LB
    6. 122. Angerer, Pat IND LB
    7. 129. Greenway, Chad MIN LB
    8. 131. Bowman, Navorro SFO LB
    9. 133. Barnett, Nick BUF LB
    10. 144. Johnson, Derrick KCC LB
    11. 152. Bethea, Antoine IND S
    12. 161. Tillman, Charles CHI CB
    13. 166. Hawthorne, David SEA LB
    14. 175. Posluszny, Paul JAC LB
    15. 176. Tulloch, Stephen DET LB
    16. 181. Cushing, Brian HOU LB
    17. 182. Pierre-Paul, Jason NYG DE
    18. 184. Allen, Jared MIN DE
    19. 185. McCourty, Jason TEN CB
    20. 187. Burnett, Morgan GBP S
    21. 194. Weatherspoon, Sean ATL LB
    22. 200. Bishop, Desmond GBP LB
    23. 201. Byrd, Jairus BUF S
    24. 204. Wilson, George BUF S
    25. 205. Peprah, Charlie GBP S
    26. 208. Chancellor, Kam SEA S
    27. 209. Smith, Daryl JAC LB
    28. 210. Washington, Daryl ARI LB
    29. 211. Lee, Sean DAL LB
    30. 212. Urlacher, Brian CHI LB

I was thinking that LBs would get more points but I wasn't certain. With a trade, I actually have the 1st and 4th overall pick to draft two IDPs. I went Patrick Willis with 1 since most IDP rankings all found had him top 3 (most having him 1). At 4th, possibly James Laurinaitis or D'Qwell Jackson?

I like Lofton is he's there. Laurinitis would be my 2nd choice. In a non keeper league, I'd keep an eye on London Fletcher. He gets mad tackles year in and year out. You may also consider Sean Witherspoon. He could move inside (especially if Atlanta goes to a 3-4) and he put up great numbers for an OLB last season. I like Jackson, but his health concerns me.

With those scoring and lineup requirements it's not even worth wasting draft capital on IDP's, or time and energy on ranking them.

But, yes, in general terms LB's that rack up tackles will be far preferable in your league to any DL or DB.
