Steelers announce Hines Ward press conference at noon today

Here is the link to the ESPN article. I hope this means he is retiring as a Steeler. Could not imagine him in another uniform.

Can't imagine it would be anything else. It's the right move.

Seems like it would be a retirement presser. I imagine he was hoping to get an offer from us or someone else and when none were forthcoming he did some soul searching and decided that it was time to move on. Good move for him. Would have hated seeing him standing on the sidelines in a different uni.

Ward:"I took a vacation. There's been some interest, but I couldn't picture myself in another uniform."

"I want to go down as one of the greats to wear the black and gold."

"I want my legacy to say that "he was one hell of a football player.""

"It was the right thing to do."

Regardless of his reasons, this is probably the best decision he could have made. Gets to go out without totally becoming a spectacle(and not in a good way). We've all seen he'd slipped considerably over the last couple years, but I think it was going to get a lot worse and fast. Glad we won't have to remember him for any of that now.

    Rock on, Hines.

As sad as I am to see the likes of Hines, Smith and Hoke go I am very happy it was as Steelers. Have a feeling Farrior will play another year somewhere.

I like that he also suggested to Wallace that he should stay here.
