The live draft, tentatively, is scheduled for Sunday, March 11 at 9:15 PM EST / 6:15 PM PST. I think only Lofaw and myself are on the east coast, so hopefully this time works for everyone.
Are people o.k. with moving the draft up to 8:45 PM EST?
As for Mikey's question, I think Yahoo! allows Commissioner's to assign keepers to certain draft slots.
The Custom Draft Order Tool, and the Assign Auction Keeper Players Tool for auction leagues, remain the key integration point for keeper leagues. As has been true for some time, when setting up a custom draft order, the commissioner will be able to assign particular players to particular picks prior to the draft, removing those players from the draft and establishing them on the correct teams. As of Baseball 2012, there are several changes to this tool to better serve commissioners:
When setting up the base draft order, commissioners can now choose to import traded picks from the previous season
If keepers were declared on our site, the commissioner can choose several popular options to automatically import those players into appropriate picks. For example, if your league rules would allow for the keepers to always be assigned to the last picks each team holds or the first picks each team holds, that is now easily supported. If instead you need to assign keepers to individual picks throughout the draft, when editing a pick the tool can help you limit the list of players to those protected by the team owning that pick.

Well I'll be honest and say I would have rather had a slow draft, but since it looks like I'm the only one that voted that way I'll have no choice but to go along with a fast draft. I just wish we could do it somewhere other then Yahoo. I dislike the yahoo draft system and I rather they'd have at least a 120 second clock to make picks. Yahoo has a lot of issues with freezing and if it freezes when you're on the clock you're never get back on before your time runs out. Also if there are any mistakes there aren't any way of making chances if we use a yahoo draft. Can't we look for another place to run the fast draft that works better and has more draft options?
Sorry I've been away from Thursday Feb 8th until Wednesday Feb 15th. I had a medical procedure and just got back online today. I've been online daily, but only for about 5 minutes to check my e-mail. Other that that I've been too tired. I'm fine now, but will probably be out again come April sometime when I have a more important follow up procedure.
I've never had a problem on a yahoo draft, but I did have a friend who got bounced from a fantasy football draft, so I do understand that concern. I think the draft dropping could happen anywhere though. Would posting the draft here be an option? At least you would have someone's number and we could wait it out - and the site wouldn't move on without you? We wouldn't be constrained by the 1:30 time limit, though 1:30 is plenty for me.
G Chat is a good option if everyone has a gmail account. It's super easy, the only thing is the commish will have to hand-enter the teams afterwards. If anyone does not have a gmail addy and would like one, I have like 90 invites left, just let me know. Yahoo may have a chat option as well, since it's a given we all have Yahoo accounts. I've just never used it.
I would meet you anywhere the western sun meets the air. We'll hit the road, never looking behind.
It'll be difficult to do a draft via a chat since someone will have to keep track of all the players taken plus managers will have to be responsible for tracking their own teams. It'll get really messy and complicated. It'll also take a lot of time to do. IMO, it's better to just use Yahoo.
Oh, I am able to set the time for each draft selection up to a maximum of 2 minutes. So Lofaw, this addresses your problem.
Now Bayo, sign in already. And everybody, select your keepers on the Yahoo! site.
We are doing it early enough that if there is an issue we can re-draft. I'll pick my keepers later this month. I'm not keeping someone just to find they blew their arm out in S.T.
And Lofaw, everyone prefered a slow draft. It's why we've done it that way for ten years. Bayo always fought it though and decided to throw a hissy this year to get his way.
