    The Bayo Problem

Hey fellas, sorry I've been vacant as of late. There is reason for that, and it affects my participation in the league.

I have a new job, or one I started last September I should say. No more cushy Vegas food scene where I had all the time in the world, I'm a traveling consultant these days. It used to be a week, maybe two on the road, then "office" work back home for awhile, then back on the road, normally staying within the Pacific Time Zone. Not too shabby.

Then we land a big contract and over-extend ourselves in the process. Now I'm almost never home. My bed actually smells like dust when I get home after three and four week jaunts away from it. When I'm working, I'm at hotels and casinos either training people, or inspecting the properties, then I go back to my own hotel room which may or may not have online access. I've often been in areas like Puerto Rico and some Indian territories, where I don't even have phone access.

Even when I had all the time in the world to set my lineup, I would still suck because I'm really bad at the intra-seasonal type stuff. The only reason I don't finish dead last every year is that I'm a decent drafter and I ignore all of Starry's trades.

I'm staying in my local Vegas league, because they're all getting together on the 26th and drafting everyone that day. Since we here refuse to do a fast draft, I would either be a major inconvenience to you all during the draft, or be relegated to sending lists in, and I would essentially just be filling a space, certain to be non-competetive this year. I do not want either one.

I know I fruitlessly fight for a fast draft every year and lose, but this year it would likely determine my participation in the first place. I don't want to hold that over the league's head either, but on paper, that's what's happening.

Any advice? I could take this year off, and reassess things next season. Or you could suffer through my lack of availability during the draft and suck it up (and I'm warning you, it's going to be bad. FightinTitan level bad.), or we could find a way to do a fast draft. What I will not do is pay the league dues to do what would amount to a proxy draft and send lists in all the time, then still have limited availability to the comings and goings of MLB.

Let's figure this out as soon as we can so we can all move forward.

Can't you just be unemployed like Donk? Problem solved.

I know setting up a live draft would be difficult. But I'm sure there is some way all if us can find 3hours to do it.

I'm available any day after 3:30pm Mountain time zone. And anytime on the weekend.

Just let Donk manage your team. You have, after all, trusted him in more uncompromising situations.

Seriously, though, I, too, would prefer a fast draft. I'll be back on French language training for a few weeks, so a fast draft would be ideal for me. I am available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights and can also free up time on the weekends.

I vote fast draft anyway. I can be available any day, any time with a few days notice. So suck on that.

And I'd rather do fast draft than replace bayo anyway. It's not like people are dying to join this league. We got lucky with lofaw and our 10th doesn't even post.

I agree - I would rather keep Bayo in this thing so we that we can take his money. :) But also because he's one of the original members.

We'll just need to hear from Stevies and his sidekick. Looks like a Sunday draft would work for most.

Bayo, let us know what Sunday in March works for you.

Me and Jr could do a Sunday evening, the more notice the better. Could absolutely not do the first Sunday in March though.

    F-ing Bayo.
If I ever saw myself saying I'm excited going to Cleveland I'd punch myself in the face because I'm lying.

Let's aim for March 11. How does that sound for everyone?

Oops, need Lofaw to chime in as well.

I did have plans to "dance" at a bachelorette party that night. It would be a shame to deprive all those ladie(sorry donk. I know you were looking forward to seeing me work it)but the 11th would be fine.

Yes, I am an original member, as in I started the freaking thing!!!

Sundays are often travel days, BUT in March I'll be three straight weeks in Fresno (pray for me), so that should work out well. As soon as I figure out the dates I'll be there, I'll let you all know.

And thank you all for not pretending like a fast draft is impossible for the first time in eight fukking years!! Dirtbags. :D
