    Game Thoughts: Pathetic

Games not even done yet....but this season is. A completely demoralizing game from kickoff....From top to bottom...coaching staff to players......they should be embarrassed to call themselves a professional football team.

Sometimes a complete beatdown that forces people to make changes can be a blessing in disguise.

But what kind of changes does this team actually have the opportunity to make?

Bring in another HB (although there's nothing promising out there)
Switch LGs and maybe LT, but the replacements are already known to be nothing special.
    Try Graham instead of Bowman
Try Toeaina and/or Gilbert at UT.

That's about it right now. Graham is the only one I have much hope for (in 09, at least) and that sure wouldn't have salvaged today.

Lovie and Angelo? They’ll get some heat, but even if we go 7-9, they aren’t going anywhere this year.

And our best draft picks are already spent, so there’s that not to look forward to, too.
The word "hero" is frequently abused badly. This is a real hero.

Lovie took over the defense JA put this group of crap out there on the OL. Bottom line is if they miss the playoffs this year (possible) it will be 0-3 sense the Super Bowl loss. Something has to happen because three years of no playoff ball shouldn't be accepted.

    Clark at TE.
    Beekman at LG.
Toeaina and Gilbert in the mix at DT.
    Adams at DE.
    Williams at SLB.
    Graham at CB.

Definitely Adams at LDE. It's clear that OGUN can only get pressure vs. crappy lineman and is very inconsistent. Why waste snaps on OGUN when he won't be here next year? Give the snaps to Adams to prepare him for next year! Of course, the Bears aren't that smart . . .

I'm fine with Marky Dee's suggestions. I wouldn't mind some coaching/responsibility changes, etc.

Basically, at this point, there probably aren't a lot of changes I would second-guess. I think they could justify just about anything at this point.

I'd say the subject line pretty much sums it up: pathetic. That was the most disgraceful performance this team has turned in during the Lovie era by a wide margin. Every player & coach on the team should be ashamed of themselves. That's 2 weeks in a row now that his team has made Lovie Smith look really bad. He'd better get it fixed real quick or nothing he accomplished in his first 5 years is going to matter.

This game is just another example of the lack of heart this team has. This is not the same team we had in 2005-2006. This team doesn't want it and the coaching staff has no opinion about anything.

They're fine with 8-8 and that's what they will be.

I'd pretty much agree with that. Maybe Omiyale would be a better fit at LT as Pace hasn't done much and much of Omiyale's hype was from his limited starts at LT in Carolina. I also think Dominic Rhodes might be a good option at RB. Wolfe doesn't provide anything.

I'd move Williams to LT and insert Schaffer at RT before I put Omiyale anywhere besides the bench or the street. Problem is, because of their indispensable "veteran leadership", I don't see Kreutz or Pace being replaced.

Kreutz' tackle on one of the interception returns (I forget which - I thinked I blacked out from the overall trauma of watching that mess for awhile) was the lone highlight of that abomination of a game.

He's made two violent, post-INT tackles in the last two games. Where is it that intensity on his blocking assignments?

Easily accesible if we move him to fullback and give him a running start at the defender.
A man like Emery doesn't need a search firm. He is the search firm. - Jon Greenberg.
