This leaves 2 open Roster Spots. That could be filled in 3 different ways.

1 - OT. The Chiefs have a bit of CYA with their tackle depth. Geoff Schwartz and Jeff Allen could play both roles - and a guard could come off the Practice Squad to fill in.

2 - DL - With Dorsey and Smith off the roster it'd be nice to see a veteran play into that front 7. Israel Idonije could be an option.

3 - WR - All signs point to Baldwin seeing more bench than grass this season.


PREDICTIONS -

Chiefs could trade Branden Albert for a player or 2014 draft pick. I think this will happen closer to training camp.

I also think Moeaki could be part of a trade similar to the one we saw today.

HOT SEATS -

Finding trade value for Jon Baldwin will be hard. But if the Chiefs begin to see promise in a UDFA or FA and feel like that roster spot is too valuable. I could see him packing bags.

Kendrick Lewis might have a better shot making the roster as a SS than a FS. The Jets use an outfielder FS. Think Jim Leonard or Yeremiah Bell. We might want to find a FS that can play that role when we run the nickel with Dunta Robinson and Berry in the Box.

After Lewis, Jalil Brown is probably not seen as a long term value on KC's roster. We know the QB needs short- to medium-range targets. We know 2-TE sets are in and Moeaki just can't be counted on. This guy has elite upside coupled with a big question on character. If he's reformed, could be a huge steal given that he's shown elite in-line blocking ability with vertical talent and better workout numbers than both Eifert and Ertz.

Truth be told I was hoping for a young QB to groom, but aside from that, a TE is as good a pick as backup RB/depth WR/DL/ILB/S. I say that only because there was a run on ILBs and safeties so there wasn't much value there. Which is unfortunate. Damn Ravens.
